“For us to do what we did was fantastic, the young blokes were getting the hard ball, contested footy,” Greig said after the game.
Greig said Coby Perry impressed with the clean way he handled the football and good decision-making.
Greig also praised the hardness of 19-year-old Ben Lusby, who has an ankle condition that has limited his training and running ability.
“You can’t teach that, he is hard as nails,” Greig said.
“He puts his head over the footy and his pressure around the ball is relentless.”
Meanwhile, Greig said teenager Lloyd Meek played an important role after a run of ruck injuries.
“He was a good contributor in getting his hands on the ball in the first half, which helped our mids have control,’ he said.
