To that end they are running an information stall and mini pop-up shop in the Bridge Mall this weekend, aiming to promote awareness and stimulate some action around the issue.
“We’ll be down there handing out flyers, advising people about what we do and who we are,” says Sarah Britten, one of the Pop-Up Shop founders.
“We’ll be encouraging people to jump on board. There are a lot of people oblivious to the fact that young and old people sleep on the streets here, they think we don’t have a problem.”
Ms Britten says donations are always welcome and all goods are being distributed as they come in. People can learn more at the stall from the volunteers, she says.
