Victoria Police spokesman Senior Constable Adam West said officers were called to an address at Lorikeet Place along Hugh Street following an altercation about 6pm.
“Investigators believe that two men were involved,” he said.
“A 38-year-old Sebastopol man was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds to his face, shoulder and wrist.
“A 52-year-old Wendouree man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with intentionally and recklessly causing injury.”
The charged man has been bailed to front court at a later date.
Lorikeet Place is a big block of red brick flats.
