The Learmonth Road Masters was among dozens of properties acquired by the consortium in late 2016 after the chain went into liquidation.
On Tuesday the consortium, which is comprised of Aurrum Group, Spotlight Group and Chemist Warehouse, announced it would be opening the first 10 malls across the country before the end of the year.
In a statement Home Consortium chairman David Di Pilla said “the Ballarat centre is progressing well and we are really excited about the tenant mix”.
“We are in process of finalising the last anchor tenant and will be announcing the targeted opening date within the next month as well as the tenants for the centre,” the statement read.
The retail centres are set to be broken down into the three broad classifications of daily-needs shopping, homewares and electrical or leisure, lifestyle and education.
The Ballarat centre is likely to be one or a combination of the latter two categories as the area is already well serviced by supermarkets in Stockland Wendouree and nearby ALDI.
The closure of Masters in December left ALDI as the sole tenant of the Eureka Homemaker Centre.
While a timeline for the Ballarat centre is yet to be announced, the remainder of the malls are expected to be opened in the coming two years.
