AFL Goldfields general manager Rod Ward told The Courier the region’s football commission would meet on Monday next week, when it would be proposed that the September 15 cut-off date be extended.
Ward said members of some clubs had already expressed a desire for more time to meet with members and then relay their thoughts on the review and its recommendations.
If this deadline is changed by the commission, it can then be expected that the final report will be released later than the current scheduled date of October 31.
“There has been mixed feedback, but by and large the majority of the feedback has been quite positive,” Ward said.

“Some of those clubs are probably not sold on the proposed moves just yet, but we’ve had many discussions with those clubs over the last few days and we will be having more discussions with them over the next few weeks.”
