“We receive a huge amount of support through donations from the community and need to make sure we use every single donation dollar to achieve the best animal welfare outcome across Victoria. With this in mind, we made the difficult decision to close Pets Place.” RSPCA Victoria Chief Executive Officer Dr Liz Walker said.
Pets Place will close on August 31, on the same day that RSPCA Ballarat Animal Care Centre will move from RSPCA Victoria to the City of Ballarat while facility development is carried out. Unadopted animals still available at the end of the month will move on to another RSPCA transfer centre or the City of Ballarat’s care if they are in quarantine.
“So many Ballarat residents have opened their hearts and homes to adoption animals during the four years Pets Place has been open.,” Dr Walker said.
Four thousand pets have been homed through Pets Place since September 2013. For updated adoption profiles visit atrspcavic.org/adoption
