Charlie Dixon had a huge impact on the outcome of Saturday’s clash with the Western Bulldogs and couldn’t be more pleased with the surface that was served up at Mars Stadium.

Speaking to The Courier in the Port Adelaide rooms after the game, Dixon said the ground was “unreal”.
“It’s a short deck, but quite wide and that sort of suits us fairly well,” he said.
“I reckon it’s one of the best (grounds) we have played on this year, just because everything is a bit chopped up at the moment with the weather.”
Dixon, like his coach Ken Hinkley, said the stadium already had the feel of an AFL venue.
“I loved every bit of it, apart from the wind and the cold,” Dixon said with a smile.
“There was a lot of Dogs supporters out there, but we also had a lot of supporters. And that’s amazing for our supporters to come and support us like they did.
“And they were very loud, like always.”
Dixon kicked four goals as the Power closed out the game best to clinch a 17-point win in the inaugural AFL fixture for premiership points in Ballarat.
The powerful key forward had 18 disposals and took eight marks to be one of the team’s standout contributors.
“Getting your hands on the ball is always good, but our pressure and our midfielders with their pressure (that) they put on, they give me the chance to come at the footy the way I did,” he said.
It was another top performance in a strong season from the former Gold Coast Suns player, who has booted 42 majors for the campaign.
Dixon has played all 21 games so far in 2017.
The fifth-placed Port Adelaide will take on Dixon’s old side next weekend in the last round of the home and away season.
