It had been more than five years since the two teams had come up against each other and the first game held in Ballarat in three years.
While the Rat Pack, which are back-to-back Statewide Stampede Tournament champions, held a three-point lead at half-time, the game ended 168-164 in the visitor’s favour.
The Rat Pack remained in the contest right up until the final seconds.
In the final jam, BRDL was 10 points behind, but with the advantage of a power jam for BRDL's jammer Rebekah Bailey.
But the Rat Pack was unable to capitalise, with Bailey closing the point gap, but going to the penalty box seconds before the jam ended.
BRDL said it was proud of everyone who took to the track, and despite the loss, described it as a fantastic game to watch.
