But after talking to international experts at the London International Youth Science Forum he has decided to switch fields to specialise in renewable energy, in particular hydrogen fuel technology.
On his first trip overseas Escher spent two weeks with 475 young scientists from 67 countries learning from leading scientists, exchanging ideas, debating global scientific topics, and visiting universities, research facilities and museums.
He also took part in an optional tour to Paris and Geneva to visit research institutions including the European Organisation for Nuclear Research’s famous CERN facility.
