The popular Melbourne Singers of Gospel choir will perform a charity concert for UnitingCare at Ballarat Central Uniting Church on August 27, with funds raised earmarked for the charity’s homeless services.
About 100 performers will sing and dance to gospel, soul and the blues tunes as they return to the city for the second year.
When the Melbourne Singers of Gospel choir were in town last year raising money for UnitingCare they also managed to win last year’s Ballarat Royal South Street Eisteddford gospel singing competition.
With director and conductor Darren Wicks at the helm the choir will be accompanied by jazz pianist Jex Saarelaht as they preform their repertoire of gospel hits.
The choir will perform at 3pm on Sunday at Ballarat Central Uniting Church, 103 Lydiard St South. Adults $20, concession $15. Bookings at trybooking.com or at the door.
