Coach Gerard FitzGerald has stressed to his group the importance of ending the season on a high and making every moment count. While it will not play finals, sitting eleventh with four wins and a draw, gaining four points against a team it is evenly-matched with will mean plenty to the group.

“The boys wanted to make sure they finished the year really well,” FitzGerald said.

After its loss to Calder Cannons last week, FitzGerald said the group had worked on some defensive aspects of its game ahead of this week’s TAC Cup triple-header.

“Sealing off” to help protect the ball carrier and creating the natural spare behind the ball something the group had worked on during the week.

An area of improvement throughout the season for the Rebels has been staying in the game when a side is on top, stemming the flow and limiting the scoreboard impact. While the ladder has not painted the Rebels as one of the better teams this season, the TAC Cup is all about development. The Rebels line-up has been made up of a lot of bottom-age players, many of which provide promise for next year.
