Snow is forecast to fall above 400m and is most likely in the afternoon and evening.
Ballarat’s altitude is approximately 435 metres, so we are even a chance of snowfall in the city.
Higher areas around Ballarat are even more likely to get a sprinkling.
Areas such as Mt Buninyong and Mt Warrenheip are the most likely, although there are a number of other places where snow is common.

A forecast maximum of just eight degrees is predicted for the day, with hail also forecast during a possible late morning thunderstorm.
A severe weather warning was issued today at 4am, with damaging winds expected for much of the state.
Damaging west to northwesterly winds of 50 to 60 km/h with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible with showers and thunderstorms over coastal parts of the Southwest, Central and West and South Gippsland districts early Monday.
Localised damaging winds with gusts up to 90 km/h associated with showers and thunderstorms will extend to remaining parts of the warning area later Monday morning and afternoon, before contracting to coastal areas again during the evening.
Locations most likely to be affected include Portland, Warrnambool, Colac and Wonthaggi.
Highest wind gusts recorded to 4:00am Monday include:
- 104 km/h at Port Fairy
- 94 km/h at Cape Nelson at 2:09am

- * Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
- * Keep clear of fallen power lines;
