The talented 20-year-old had been a trade target for a number of Victorian clubs, but Hopper’s decision showed his loyalty to the club that selected him with the seventh pick in the 2015 AFL National Draft and a clear decision to choose success over money as the Giants march into another finals series.
"I love the club and how they've embraced me and my family so it was an easy decision to recommit," Hopper told The Age.
"This is my home and where I want to play football. I'm so excited for what's to come with this group and I absolutely want to be a part of it...heading into finals, there is a really good buzz around the place."
Hopper’s signing eases the pressure on the club as it looks to retain its talented list. The unsigned Josh Kelly remains a strong topic of conversation as he weighs up several massive offers.
