There seemed to be an abundance of cherry pickers and workmen on site carrying out works at Smythesdale’s Browns Road.
The maintenance involved a power outage, which affected residents of Smythesdale and Scarsdale and was expected to be restored by late afternoon.
Citipower spokesperson Samantha Porter said the planned outage began at 8.30am Tuesday and was restored later in the day.
Citipower estimated that the outage affected 196 residents.
“The power outage was due to routine maintenance. It’s a cross arm replacement,” she said.
