TV's diet of cooking contests leaves bad taste in the mouth

Even before Tuesday night's lacklustre finale, which saw former Home & Away star Debra Lawrance crowned "winner", Hell's Kitchen Australia was stuck in that particularly cruel limbo reserved for the last days of a failing TV show. It was utterly doomed, but it had to run its course.
