Jacob Brown was one of the youngest footballers on the ground on Saturday, but played like a man many years his senior to lead Hepburn to the Central Highlands Football League premiership.

The 19-year-old won the medal as the grand final’s best player, with his contested marks, exciting play up forward and four goals a highlight of the Burras’ 18-point success against Beaufort.
Brown was clearly a happy man in the Hepburn rooms after the game and spoke about his love for the club.
“It’s unbelievable. I’ve been here since I was born with Dad playing (at Hepburn) as well. I’m lost for words. It’s kind of a dream come true (because) I’ve been out here for so long,” he said.
While Saturday was Brown’s first taste of senior success, it wasn’t his first premiership in Hepburn colours.
He played in the under-18 side’s triumph in 2014, which was also coached by Jason Olver.
