A $17,000 grant will allow CFA Pride Ambassadors to visit CFA regions across the state to provide staff, brigade management teams and interested volunteers with information and training on LGBTQI inclusion.

The funding also secures resources for CFA participation in events including Daylesford’s Chillout Festival and Midsumma Festival’s Pride March.

CFA assistant chief officer for inclusion and fairness Steve Smith said it was great for CFA members to have the opportunity to learn from others’ experiences to ensure all members are fully welcomed.

“My hope is this is only the beginning and we continue working to ensure that CFA is truly inclusive,” he said.
