The Vikings defeated Warrnambool Rangers 5-0 in its BDSA grand final at Morshead Park. Vikings and Rangers had fought out three close matches previously, Sebastopol winning all three 1-0.
But it made the most of its chances on Saturday.
“We knew we had the ability to score goals, the last couple of games we’ve played against them we’ve struggled to convert our opportunities – so that was our focus today,” coach Anton Maggi said.
“We knew we’d create opportunities, we just had to put them in, and we did.”
Maggi said Warrnambool were clearly its toughest opponent throughout the season, but Vikings were able to step it up a notch on the grand final stage.
Sebastopol controlled possession for much of the first half, while things evened up slightly in the second, the result was never in danger.
Deana Giovinazzo was awarded the medal for best on pitch after she booted four goals.
