The Glenn Miller Orchestra’s concert spectacular at the Wendouree Centre For Performing Arts will feature the best music of the 40s on Wednesday night.
Tickets are still available at the box office, from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm.
They will then go on sale at 6.30pm, an hour before the show starts.
The orchestra’s biggest fans have the the chance to enjoy a trip down memory lane to ahead of its 80th anniversary in 2018.
The group features 24 musicians, singers and dancers during its performance that highlights the great ‘Big Band’ hits.
This includes original Glenn Miller arrangements, the music of The Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and the romantic World War II melodies made famous by Vera Lynn.
Musical director Rick Gerber said the band played a unique jazz sound that was sought around the world.
“The Glenn Miller Orchestra is a colourful and flamboyant evening filled with fun and nostalgia of the 30s and 40s,” he said.
“In addition to recreating the golden era of swing, we bring to life the colour, costumes and spirit.
“Having travelled across the globe, The Glenn Miller Orchestra is delighted to be bringing iconic tunes such as In The Mood and Moonlight Serenade to Australia.
“America means freedom and there’s no expression of freedom quite so sincere as music.”
During the heyday of swing music it captivated millions of people worldwide and will bring all these classics together for a nostalgic concert in Ballarat.
The Concert will also feature dance routines by the Broadway Swing Dancers, who have joined the band for the tour.
After 80 years the Glenn Miller Orchestra’s hits are still loved world wide.
The group’s list of classics includes Chattanooga Choo-Choo, In the Mood, Tuxedo Junction, A String of Pearls, Moonlight Serenade and Little Brown Jug.
