THESE are burgers, but from a different perspective. Street food specialist Hank Marvin Market rolls into Ballarat on Thursday morning for four days of pattie flipping and cheese dripping goodness.
Hank Marvin founder Paul Wesolek has challenged traders to bring out their culture in burgers, and Ballarat can expect influences of Jamaica, Vietnam, Korean and Thai for the Big Burger Biannual.
This is the inaugural regional burger tour with the Ballarat stop set in Ballarat Botanical Gardens for a pretty, relaxed atmosphere. It follows a big burger weekend at Hank Marvin’s St Kilda base on AFL grand final weekend.
“We had a rockin’ two days in St Kilda and we’re absolutely excited to be back in Ballarat after hosting the Baker’s Exhange there,” Mr Wesolek said. “We’re excited to hang out in Ballarat again.”
Big Burger Biannual is dog-friendly but there are dog-free seated areas for market-goers. In a Sunday only treat, the event will feature a doggie food truck with bone broth beer, doggie cider and doggie burgers.
