Shelley McBain fronted the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court briefly on Friday morning.
She was wanted in relation to theft offences.
Defence lawyer David Tamanika asked the court for his client to be remanded in custody until next Tuesday.
He said McBain was withdrawing from an addictive substance and may need to see a doctor after she had back surgery this year.
Magistrate Jonathan Klestadt remanded McBain in custody until October 10.
As she left the court room, her mother wished her a happy birthday, to which McBain smiled.
