The Inspector-General of Taxation is an independent government agency that holds the Australian Taxation Office to account and provides a complaint-handling service to the community.
Mr Noroozi said the agency also did much broader reviews into systemic issues and tax administration.
The visit consisted of a formal presentation and a chance to raise issues or concerns, but Mr Noroozi said practitioners were also able to talk more privately with him about their difficulties.
“We are very keen to reach out to all tax payers and tax practitioners across Australia to let them know if they are having difficulties with the tax office or the Tax Practitioners Board we can help them,” Mr Noroozi said.
“And if they have ideas on how to improve the system, we are also keen to hear from them.”
