A 30-year-old Mitcham man has been charged after an elderly pedestrian was killed crossing a main road in Box Hill on Saturday morning.
It is alleged a 97-year-old man was crossing Whitehorse Road towards Linsley Street shortly before 9am when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The Box Hill man was treated by paramedics at the scene but died shortly after.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said it was a fully controlled intersection with a traffic light and a pedestrian crossing.
