City meets Strikers in a friendly to kick off its pre-season program.
Development coach Adam Vranesic will take charge of Strikers for what is the third time in as many years they have played Melbourne City in a practice game.
Vranesic said the Ballarat club had had several training sessions over the past few weeks to fine tune for the outing.
He said it was a great opportunity for the Strikers to be exposed to a full-flight professional outfit. “It’s a great learning experience.”
Strikers will have the services of former players Erin Plucke, Alex Murphy and Jasmina Zdelar, who all play with Geelong Galaxy in the WNPL.
Melbourne City, which has added Matildas forward Kyah Simon to its line-up as a marquee signing late last week, is expected to have up 22 players in Ballarat.
Kick-off on stadium pitch at 4.30pm.
