Now a 10-year-old, the Ballarat, Ararat and Stawell Cups winner finished last season as a jumper for Stawell trainer Dane Smith.
He produced a win and three placings in four hurdle starts, including a third in the JJ Houlahan Hurdle in Ballarat on August 20. Mujadale has not raced since.
He is one of 24 nominations for the cup, one of seven races on a program which marks 160 years of racing in the Pyrenees region.
Avoca Shire Turf Club was founded in 1857, and to help mark the occasion the State Government has contributed more than $21,000 through the Victorian Racing Industry Fund.
The club is also providing almost $22,000 and Country Racing Victoria $8500 for a day which will feature live music by Zevon and Nicole, and Untapped Trio, as well as fashions on the field and entertainment by circus and comedy act “Jacques the French Waiter”, “Tim Tim” the clown will be on course with “Dazzling Dan the Magic Man”.
