With 39 volunteer vacancies over the next four days, the society hopes some ushers previously trained at Her Majesty’s Theatre will offer their time.
Royal South Street Society chief executive officer Brett MacDonald said because the weekend is all but sold out, volunteers are needed more than ever.
“OHS rules mean if we don’t have enough volunteers, the show simply can’t go on,” Mr MacDonald said.
“We find that our volunteers always leave with a huge sense of accomplishment.
“Royal South Street is something that’s so central to the Ballarat performing community, and volunteers always get a kick out of keeping it ticking along.
“We’d be really grateful for the help of those trained at Her Maj over the years.”
Volunteers will receive a credit pass, allowing them entry into a Royal South Street Society event in 2017-2018.
This weekend’s CommBank calisthenics program includes senior champion, reserve champion and solo competitions.
