Police are searching for a scammer who claimed he would do roof repairs and clean out gutters, but left without finishing the work.
He told his elderly victim he was from ‘Marty’s Painting and Cleaning’ when he charged him the huge sum of money.
Senior Constable Jane Stewart said the scammer was driving a silver station wagon, possibly with a female and two young children.
“He was Caucasian, in his 20s or 30s, male, with short, light brown hair and short facial hair,” she said.
