Pyrenees Premium Cuts is ready to showcase gold medal winning smoked cheese kransky, named top in the state this month by the Australian Meat Industry Council Sausage King judges.
The Avoca business also snagged a swag of silver and bronze Sausage King medals and is also a finalist for best new business in next week’s Grampians Pyrenees Business Awards.
Pyrenees Premium Cuts’ Hayley Collicoat said the top cut recognition was about putting the whole region on the foodie map.
“It’s really good promotion for Melbourne visitors who are coming not just to our town, but to Moonambel, Amphitheatre, and Ballarat, particularly coming through for on their way to the wine region,” Ms Collicoat said.
Avoca Turf Club is celebrating 160 years’ tradition, missing six race seasons in World War II. The club hosts race meets at the Avoca track twice a year. Gates open 10.30am on Saturday.
