Live in full band form and fresh off touring their latest offering Wildflower, the Melbourne outfit comprised of core members Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi will unleash a spate of new sounds as well as favourites from 2000’s Since I Left You, a record since written into Australian music folklore.
Also making their way to the festival will be New York alternative icons Grizzly Bear, who will be making their first appearance on Australian shores since 2014.
Golden Plains Shire mayor Des Phelan said the Golden Plains and Meredith music festivals brought a lot of people into the municipality and were extremely well run.
“The Nolans who run the festival a great people and they do a lot of great work for Meredith and the surrounding region,” said Cr Phelan, who himself plans on making an appearance at the ‘Sup.
“The organisers do a great job out in the community and everything goes back to the town so it really is a win-win situation.”
Also among the international talent destined to hit the stage over the long weekend will be British jazz punk wizz kid King Krule, Los Angeles soul maestro Kamasai Washington and bass guitar master Thundercat.
Melbourne punk outfit Tropical F@#k Storm, led by the charismatic Drones frontman Gareth Liddiard, will look to bring a heavier edge to the festival. The show will be Liddiard’s second Golden Plains outing in as many years after he joined The Triffids on stage at the 2017 incarnation.

Also among the Australian contingent will be Aria-nominated Sydney indie-pop outfit The Preatures, who released their critically acclaimed sophomore record Girlhood earlier this year.
Melbourne singer-songwriter Jen Cloher will return to the ampitheatre after playing Golden Plains’ sibling festival Meredith back in 2014, while American psych-rock act The Black Angels will look to turn it up a notch on Sunday afternoon.
Golden Plains Music Festival runs from March 10-12 2018.
