Knowles delivered a captain’s knock of 114 off 107 balls, but he was quickly running out of partners to track down the Roosters 284 runs.
Opener Nick Smith hit 74 to help set-up the run chase, but they were the only two contributions of any significance.
At 6-227, Brown Hill looked poised to track down the total, but it lost wickets at 227, 230 and Knowles at the 245-run mark before the final wicket fell at 247.
North Ballarat captain Adam Eddy was pleased to get the win, but said there was a lot to work on.
“I’m happy, 2-0, pretty happy, but we’ve got plenty to improve on.” Eddy said.
“Both games we’ve nearly lost it through our own bad cricket, but in saying that we’ve come back and won both.
“It just hasn’t clicked...(but) as long as we’re winning, I’m happy.
“That’s a good way to look at it, we’ve got so much improvement but we’re still winning.”
In what was an even bowling display, Englishmen Will Rogers topped the list with 3-32 from his seven overs. Prabath Priyankara was the most economical of the bowlers while Dylan Price took 2-12 from two overs, including Knowles.
