The Pointies struck consistently throughout the innings, claiming six Hawks’ scalps before they hit the 100-mark. Tristan Dixon provided some resistance down the order, belting 74 off 71.
But East Ballarat never truly threatened. Daniel White taking home the best figures with 3-35.
Golden Point captain Josh White was pleased to start its campaign in winning fashion.
“We certainly kept it tight early,” White said.
“Dicko (Tristan Dixon) got ahold of us after tea and looked pretty dangerous, but we manged to get him out then it was a matter of time to get the last couple.
“It’s a nice way to start, there’s a few things to work on but it’s always positive to start with a win.”
