Alex Hendricks of Graphic Enhancement has been working on the mural all week and expects it to be finished by Friday. It replaces a trellis that had previously covered the wall.
He says he worked with the owners of the practice, Robin and Don Anderson, to work up an idea that celebrated the history of Soldiers Hill and of Ballarat in general.
He says the mural incorporates a background of the Southern Cross flag with working draught horses, a miner sluicing panning for gold, a soldier and a wooden sluice common in the goldrush days.
Mr Hendricks has been running his business for two years, but has been learning his craft since he was 15.
