Denham is the Bloods’ first major signing under new coach Aaron Tymms for the 2018 Ballarat Football League season.
He played his early junior football with Melton before rounding out his under-age years with the Cobras.
The small onballer spent time in Canberra before returning to Bacchus Marsh in 2016 and playing in its first BFL premiership.
Melton football manager Brad Jamison said Denham, 23, had expressed a desire for sometime to one day play with the Bloods again.
“He’s got some close mates playing here.”
He said Denham’s speed and hard attack on the ball would fill an area Melton lacked in.
Denham moved from Melton to the Cobras in the under-16.5s and was fast-tracked into the seniors in his first under-18.5 season in 2011.
He was a major contributor in Bacchus Marsh’s premiership year after coming off a knee reconstruction, finishing second in the club’s best and fairest.
Denham was voted the Cobras’ best-in-finals this year.
Meanwhile, Melton has lost ruckman Mark Maric to Tullamarine in the Essendon District Football League.
Maric joined Melton from Strathmore in 2016 and struggled with a hand injury this year.
