A WENDOUREE man was interviewed over allegations of possessing child pornography after an early morning raid yesterday.
The 40-year-old man was interviewed by Taskforce Astraea detectives and items were seized from his residence, including computer equipment, just after 6am.
The man is expected to be charged on summons with knowingly possess child pornography.
Taskforce Astraea was established in January to crack down on sexual crimes committed against children, focusing particularly on offences committed online.
The specialist team works to identify and target offenders downloading child exploitation material and those involved in the sexual exploitation of children on the internet.
Taskforce Astraea will strengthen Victoria Police's capability to manage intelligence on sex offenders and child abuse offences.
