The college took out the girls’ and boys’ divisions in the inaugural Eureka division Year 9-10 intermediate tournament at Futsal Ballarat.
Eureka was among a group of SSV divisions across the state to run a trial futsal event.
Eleven teams took part in the Ballarat competition.
The SSV football sub-committee will now consider feedback in consultation with Football Federation Victoria to gauge the level of interest from schools and determine whether the competition will be adopted on an ongoing basis.
Futsal Ballarat director Dermott Tebb said It would be great to see the sport introduced to the SSV calendar.
“You drive past the majority of schools at lunch-time now and kids are kicking soccer balls.”
He said an SSV competition would give youngsters further opportunities in futsal.
Mount Rowan College campus sport coordinator Chris Karameros said feedback from sport coordinators had been positive.
