The pool which was originally due to be opened on Saturday December 2 will be available for public use from 12pm Sunday through to 7pm.
For the remainder of the pool season the Black Hill facility will be open 12pm-7pm on weekends and 3pm-7pm on weekdays.
With top temperatures of 27, 29 and 31 degrees expected over the next three days the facility is sure to be in high demand.
The decision comes after the opening of Eureka Pool was put on hold as council attempts to fix a leak at the Stawell Street South facility.
In a statement a council spokesperson said council would continue to work with an aquatic contractor at the Eureka Pool with the aim of reopening by mid-December.
The city’s remaining two pools at Brown Hill and Buninyong are set to open on Saturday December 2.
