The side thrashed City Oval on Saturday to climb to the lead, with Ballarat claiming all four rink battles in a 97-63 success.
Ballarat prevailed on City Oval’s home turf and broke 10 points clear of second-placed Central Wendouree in the process.
Wayne Fitzgerald claimed the most comprehensive win on the day, with his rink crushing that of rival skipper Ian Robinson 28-9. Fitzgerald was well supported by the efforts of fellow skippers Paul Ashmore and Brad and Mark Fothergill, who also recorded wins.
City Oval had been third before the weekend’s matches, but is now sixth on the Ballarat District Bowls Division ladder.
The Bears kept their place in second following a strong win over Sebastopol on Saturday.
Central Wendouree proved far too good at home, beating the Kookaburras by 35 shots.
Sebastopol remains the only winless team in the league.
Ballarat East slipped from top spot to third following its loss at Learmonth.
The Learmonth side was dominant on its home green, handing the Two Blues a 118-87 defeat.
Learmonth sits fourth after taking three of the four rinks in the process.
In other games, Buninyong beat Webbcona and Creswick was too good for Mt Xavier.
There will be no weekend pennant next Saturday due to the Victorian Open, which is being held in the Shepparton region.
