We found this wildflower on our property adjacent to the Canadian Forest and we're wondering if you would be able to identify it for us.

D. & O. B., Mt Clear.
Your plant is the trailing goodenia, a widespread wildflower found across much of the Ballarat district.
It is a well-named plant, with stems trailing along the ground rather than growing upwards.
There are several related species in the Ballarat district, but this is the most common, and the only one with trailing stems.
Each of the five petals is notched at the tip.
It is at its peak flowering time now, having started in late winter.
The trailing goodenia is said to adapt well to cultivation, but it seems to be rarely encountered in gardens.
