The annual Harry Potter Book Night is set to return on February 1 next year after attracting a huge crowd of more than 500 bookworms to the 2017 incarnation, more than 200 up on the previous year.
Registrations are now open for anyone hoping to secure their place at the 2018 fantastic beasts-themed event.
The annual event coincides with International Harry Potter Day which celebrates the mystical series.
Meanwhile the Ballarat City Council’s silent reading party is also set to make a return in 2018, with the Ballarat Botanic Gardens set to be filled with readers on from 6-7pm on February 10.
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic as well as their paperbacks to the free event in the gardens, with no bookings required. The event is part of the Silent Ready Party series being put on by Ballarat Libraries at locations across the city.
