The Child and Family Services operated and run op shop is participating in the Sunday event to raise awareness of what it has on offer.
There will be a Price is Right game where participants can win one of three prizes for the closest guesses on how much each mannequin’s outfit costs.
The popular op shop has grown to four locations across Ballarat, including two Howitt Street locations, Grenville Street South and Albert Street.
Annette Lloyd has been a volunteer for 22 years after starting off in the basement ironing for two days a week.
She now works in both the Ballarat Central and Sebastopol op shops.
“I’ve never regretted a day of volunteering and virtually clothe myself, my grandchildren and friends from Wozzle’s clothing,” Ms Lloyd said.
“I always get comments about what beautiful clothes I wear and I’m not too proud to say come and see our store because it’s like a boutique.”
She said volunteers did a great job sorting through the donations and there were often brand names and designer labels among the haul.
While all clothing was laundered and tagged before being displayed in the stores.
But at Christmas, there was often an increase in sales and a desperate need for more volunteers to keep up with demand.
“A lot of people come in to buy Christmas presents off us and you wouldn’t know they were not brand new – toys, books, clothes with the tags still on them,” Ms Lloyd said.
“We can’t keep up with the four shops and then after Christmas we have another influx of people throwing out their clothes at the end of the year.”
The money from the sales remains in Ballarat, donated to CAFS’ programs to help children in temporary and long-term care.
Meanwhile, Wendouree Parade will partially shut between 8am and 5pm for Springfest on Sunday.
Cars will be allowed to drive in a clockwise direction only, with the anti-clockwise lane saved for emergency and administrative vehicles.
