UNPREDICTABLE: Congo-born boxer Sonni ``Michael'' Angelo has some fun at yesterday's weigh-in for tonight's fight.

YOU can call light heavyweight contender Sonni ``Michael'' Angelo many things. You can call him brash, or driven, or even a loose cannon. But one thing you cannot call the Congo-born boxer is predictable.Sonni was in Ballarat yesterday for the weigh-in before tonight's IBO Asia-Pacific title bout against Geelong fighter Kane McKay.And contrary to his fearsome reputation and boxing convention, Angelo immediately declared his opponent to be the favourite.Angelo weighed in at 77.3kg, marginally lighter than his Australian-born opponent who tipped the scales at 79kg.The self-styled ``Jungle Lord'' said he had respect, and even admiration for his opponent, but then warned McKay he would ``wrap him up like an anaconda''.``I love (McKay) and respect him,'' Angelo declared. ``I like Kane because he beat me before but this time it might be different.``I am always feeling good and always confident, and I will be a legend of the jungle, but he might be beat. I'm always the underdog.''Angelo says he has faced a hard road to become a professional fighter in Australia. His journey, from Africa, via Bolivia, has included time in detention but that had merely toughened his resolve and dedication to the sport.``I've had to go a long way to become a better boxer,'' Angelo says.``It was hard for me to come to Australia and then I had to spend time at the Villawood Detention Centre. When I got out and became a professional boxer it has still been hard.``Now I have a new trainer who is doing the right things for me.''Angelo has a professional record of 14 wins (five by knock out) and six losses. He lost his most recent fight for the WBF middleweight belt to Shannan Taylor when he was disqualified after a head clash.Other Ballarat fighters in action at the Ballarat Badminton Stadium include Michael Sacco, Tommy and Ryan Dodgshun, Justin Coulthard and Mick Smith.Tonight's program kicks off at 7.15pm with Ballarat junior welterweight Luke Laux in action. The final curtain raiser is Ballarat's first fully-sanctioned women's bout between Melbourne's Michaela Ng and German fighter Rebekka Atz, who is trained by Sam Soliman. The main bout between McKay and Angelo will be fought over 12 three-minute rounds and will commence about 10pm.
