They progressed to next Tuesday night’s grand final with convincing knock-out semi-final wins in the BNA’s premier competition.
Oscars are chasing a third consecutive premiership, while Wendouree is out to avenge last year’s one-goal grand final loss.
Dela Oscars defeated Brown Hill 69-45 on Tuesday and Wendouree had the better of Eureka 56-45 to earn a rematch BNA’s Llanberris complex.
The Dela combination is going for an 11th title in 12 seasons, having previously played under the Assuntas brand.
Oscars were clinical in their performance – going from strength-to-strength after a close opening quarter had them leading by just three goals.
Dela led 34-18 at half-time and maintained the pressure throughout.
Wendouree had a tighter tussle after leading 27-19 at the main break, with Eureka sticking to its task all the way.
Wendouree’s Cynna Kydd said they were really excited to be playing Dela in another grand final.
“We have an unresolved problem there which we need to resolve.”
Kydd said Wendouree played well for three quarters, but was “away with the fairies” in the last, with perhaps the hot conditions being a factor.
She said they had worked on a few things which had been sticking points in what was a good hit-out.
Dela Oscars and Wendouree Netball Association finished one-two on the ladder, each with four wins in the six-round competition.
They met twice and shared the honours with one win apiece.
Wendouree took out a thriller by two goals in round three and Dela bounced back hard when it ran away by 15 goals in the last round.
The grand final will be live streamed via the Ballarat Netball Association’s Facebook page – a first for the sport in the region.
