The calendar features members doing the usual club duties, such as mowing and updating the score board, while stark naked. Around 150 copies are being printed, featuring people between the ages of 21 and 86. 

Club sponsorship manager Catherine Phillips said there were some “raised eyebrows” initially, but members still agreed to strip off.

“We want people to recognise that bowls isn’t just an old person’s sport, we have great fun at the club and it’s a family atmosphere,” she said. 

Ms Phillips said the club was comprised of 130 passionate members who encouraged her to blaze a trail. 

“The top green has only just been deemed playable, but we really need to do some serious work on it, so that’s where the money is going,” she said. 

“Some of these fellas have had strokes and they’re still coming, their commitment to being here keeps me here.”

The $20 calendar will launch on December 10.
