Police believe the man was driving home when he spotted a man and a woman trying to steal a caravan from his property on Wilshire Lane at about 5pm yesterday
The man then parked his car in front of the pair’s red Ford ute to block the driveway and was getting out of his car to confront the pair when he was punched in the face.
The victim fell and lost consciousness as a result of the punch.
The woman then got into the victim’s car and moved the vehicle before the pair fled in the Ford utility with no caravan or anything else for their efforts.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate the duo who are believed to be in the Ballarat area.
The male is described as being in his early to mid-40s, approximately 175cm tall, with a dark complexion and dark hair.
He was reportedly wearing a black jacket and a gold ring with a black, square-shaped stone on his right hand at the time of the attempted robbery.
The female is described as Caucasian, in her mid-30s, approximately 165cm tall, with fair, collar length hair, and a solid build.
Ballarat police have issued a warning on their Eyewatch Facebook Page with a description and photos of the ute believed to be involved in the attempted robbery.
