The pool was closed to repair a leak, with Ballarat City Council refusing to name a date for its reopening as mid-December approaches.
The temperature was predicted to hit 35 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and remain in the high 20s throughout the week.
A statement released on council’s website said the leak was fixed, but the pool had to be cured before it was refilled.
Community development director Neville Ivey said the pool was was still on track to open in mid-December.
“The works involved replacing the return line up the centre of the pool, 300 metres of expansion joint, and painting the repaired surface,” he said.
The Buninyong and Brown Hill aquatic centres will open on days when the temperature hits 25 degrees, before another hot day of 32 degrees on Sunday.
They open 3pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and 11am to 7pm on weekends and public holidays.
The hours will extend from noon to 7pm during school holidays.
