Update, 1.37pm: There are now 18 vehicles responding to the fire on Woodland Drive in Scarsdale.
The fire has been listed as small but still going.
Traffic is being diverted around the area.
It is believed the fire started on blackberry bushes about 50 metres from Corio Dam Road.
So far it is believed only scrub and grass have been affected.
12.29pm: Six vehicles are currently responding to an out-of-control grassfire in Scarsdale.
According to Vic Emergency’s website the grass fire is nearby Woodland Drive in Scarsdale and travelling in a southerly direction towards Corio Dam Road.
An advice warning has been issued for communities in Scarsdale, Italian Gully, Newtown, Piggoreet, Smythesdale and Staffordshire Reef.
While there is currently no threat, Vic Emergency advises to plan what to do if the situation changes.
