The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a maximum of 22 degrees and partly cloudy conditions for December 25.
It will be preceded by ideal swimming weather at the weekend, with the temperatures tipped to hit 30 degrees on Saturday.
The swelter will start to fade on Sunday, when a possible morning shower has been predicted.
It will be a welcome change from the damaging winds, which were expected to hit Ballarat and the Central Highlands region today.
The bureau issued a severe weather warning for central Victoria and parts of the Wimmera.
This included winds up to 50 or 60km/hr and strong wind gusts until 4am.
