The club will receive $5000 from the state government to help its goal of installing a wicket table at the Buninyong Recreation Reserve.
Club president Jason Giri said the money, announced by Buninyong MP Geoff Howard on Thursday morning, would be used to purchase some of the equipment required to maintain the pitch, like covers and mowers.
Giri said it was the aim that the club raise enough money to install a turf pitch for the 2019-20 season.
The pitch will follow a major resurfacing project at the ground, which is almost complete.
Buninyong is set to join the Ballarat Cricket Association first grade ranks next season.
Meanwhile, Mt Clear Cricket Club was given $2,356 to help purchase a turf pitch roller and bowling machine.
