The 15-year-old from Adelaide was extremely impressive on her way to victory last year. And she is in top form having won her home state’s Bay Sheffield women’s gift.
She won off a 6.5m handicap in 2017, this time she will start from 5.75m back.
Other sprinters likely to threaten her claim for back-to-back wins are Olivia Russo, who recently won the Northcote Women’s Gift.
2016 Stawell Gift winner Talia Martin will also be one to look out for as will consistent performer Anna Pasquali.
In the men’s gift, 17-year-old Mason Keast will fly the Ballarat flag, expected to run strongly, fresh off running in Adelaide’s Bay Sheffield.
Two-time Stawell Gift finalist Tim Eschebach and Matt Carter, who has won Maryborough twice previously, are also in contention.
While Michael Romanin is one of the favourites, coming off 3 metres.
