Robinson is the first female group’s first president since its formation in the 1980s.
The Avoca local has been a member of the group - which supports the Melbourne Football Club - for about 20 years.
Robinson said she never thought she would be the first female to lead the committee.
“They’re a good group of people down here and they’re all friendly. We’re all here for the same reason – because we all love Melbourne.”
Robinson said it was an easy decision to take on the role of president.
“I’ve been vice-president for about four years and I’ve been on the committee for as long as I’ve been a member of the club,” she said.
“It’s just the next step. “We’ve got a lot of women in the group, which is really good. There’s a nice mix.”
The group, which has about 200 people on its mailing list. will hold its first gathering of 2018 with a family day at Victoria Park on Sunday, January 14.
Cameron Pedersen will be presented with the Ballarat Demons’ most persistent player award – given by the group each year – at the function, which starts at 11am and features a free barbecue.
